1 Our guide to the many restaurants on Maddox Street, join us for a walk along this exclusive Mayfair Street.

I have always liked Maddox Street, so I thought it was about time we took a closer look at the best restaurants on Maddox Street.  Maddox Street runs from New Bond Street to Regent Street so it is hardly surprising that in terms of restaurants, Maddox Street is well blessed with culinary options.

Why don’t you join me on a stroll down Maddox Street? I’m starting at the Regent Street end and taking a little detour into Pollen Street, as it is home to three of Jason Atherton’s “social” restaurants, including his first restaurant, the Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social.

2 Pattara

So are you ready, lets go.

The first restaurant we visit on a short walk along Maddox Street is Pattara. A large double-fronted restaurant.

This recently refurbished serves classic Thai cuisine. A large selection of meat, fish and vegetable dishes.

3 Aline

Aline Restuarants on Maddox Street

Next up is Aline Lebanese kitchen , a pretty and welcpming looking restaurant.

As you would of guessed Aline is famed for serving authentic Lebanese cuisine; the menu contains a range of hot & cold Mezze, Grills and Lebanese dishes from the oven,

4 Ergon Deli

Crossing over the road from Aline is the  Ergon Deli. Hands up, this is not strictly a restaurant but a Greek deli with a few tables. It’s worth including due to the quality of the produce. There is a lunch menu with a drinks list serving Greek wines, beers and spirits.

This is a delightful place to go if you are looking for a good value lunch or brunch.

5 Kanishka by Atul Kochhar

Virtually next door the big-hitting Kanishka, fine-dining Indian cuisine.

Atul Kochhar is no stranger to Mayfair, having previously been head chef at Tamarind and chef Patron at Benares. Atul opened Kanishka in 2019 and has been a  Maddox Street favourite ever since,

Signature dishes of Chicken Tikka pie, Black dal, and Ahuna Gossht Curry Lamb. Read an in-depth review of our recent article on Kanishka.

6 Mary’s formerly Pollen Street Social

Steak at Mary's
Fig Creme brulee
Duck croquette with satay sauce and pickled cucumber

Please let me take you on a slight detour; it is well worth it. Across the road is Pollen Street and home to Jason Athertons new restaurant Mary’s formerly Michelin starred Pollen Street Social and bistro Little Social.

Mary’s opened in September 2024 and is Jason Atherton’s new restaurant. It is designed to be a more casual offering from Pollen Street Social with a wood-fired grill, Blind pig cocktail bar, and a smash burger bar. Although more casual, Jason has not forgotten his fine dining roots, and the food is seriously good. Chef Alex Parker has put together a menu to please the most serious foodies.

8-10 Pollen Street

7 Little Social

Little Social is a modern neighbourhood bistro and wine bar across from the flagship restaurant, Pollen Street Social, led by Jason Atherton and Head Chef Frankie van Loo.

5 Pollen Street

8 Goodman Restaurant

So we are back on Maddox Street; I hope you enjoyed the detour. Next up is the famous Goodman  Restaurant; steak is their big thing.

The Goodman opened in the UK in 2010, and it has built a reputation as one of London’s premier steak restaurants. The group now has four restaurants in London, but unlike many chain restaurants, Goodmans gets better with age. Talking of age, the steaks are chosen for the menu from the ageing room and include some of the best cuts of beef available. As well as steak, there is a selection of fish starters and mains.

24-26 Maddox Street

9 Bombay Bustle

Crossing the road again, we reach the second of three Indian restaurants on Maddox Street.

Bombay Bustle is a sister restaurant to Michelin-starred Jamavar on Mount Street. The art deco interior with “the carriage” area is styled on a Mumbai railway carriage. This is an impressive restaurant, Mabal styling with food to match. If you visit, a must try the lamb biryani, Achari Lamb Chop  & chicken tikka Makhani.

29 Maddox Street

10 Poke House

The newly opened Poke house on Maddox Street

The Poke House opened its doors in October 2023. With over 160 houses across the globe, their mission is healthy eating and sustainability. Serving healthy bowls, shakes and snacks. Poke House is going to be a popular addition to Maddox Street.

32 Maddox Street

11 Manthan Mayfair

We pass the Maddox Arms, and cross over the road to our final restaurant and final of the trio offline ding Indian restaurants on Maddox Street.

Chef Rohit Ghai’s Manthan in Mayfair is a culmination of his diverse culinary experiences from his upbringing in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, as well as his work in professional kitchens worldwide.

12 Manthan offers a mix of home-style and professional cooking. The menu includes street-style bar snacks, grills, curries, and Ghai’s family recipes.

13 49 Maddox Street

Well, thats it. We are now at the New Bond Street crossroads; take my advice: New Bond Street is a road to go shopping in unless you have seriously deep pockets.

I told you there was no shortage of restaurants on Maddox Street Mayfair; something for everyone with plenty of different cuisines and restaurants.

Even if you are not planning to eat, it is well worth taking a stroll and getting away from the crowds on Regent Street.

If you enjoyed this article, you will find our walk down Mount Street, North Audley Street and Dover Street of interest, where we uncover many more dining options in Mayfair.
