My favourite Cocktail-The Mayfair Foodie
So here we go with the “My favourite cocktail” feature on the Mayfair foodie. Over the next few weeks & months, I will be asking guests on the website about their favourite cocktail.
“My Favorite Cocktail” The Mayfair Foodie
So, to kick this off, it’s me. In truth, up until last year I did not know I had a favourite cocktail, I could take them or leave them. If people were drinking cocktails, I would go for something gin based or maybe a Mojito. That all changed last year on holiday in Mykonos and after dinner we would visit a great cocktail bar & that’s where I discovered a Negroni. Now I’m hooked, I’m not saying it’s my go-to drink, but whenever it’s cocktail time, it’s definitely my go-to cocktail choice. Last Christmas I bought all the ingredients, so I enjoyed a few cheeky Negroni’s at home over the festive season.
It has to be said that the Negroni is on most cocktail bars’ menus, but it does divide the crowd. I compare it to the reaction to liking anchovies or dessert wine, both of which I love; the latter is surprising as I don’t have a sweet tooth. I know of only one friend who likes dessert wine & whenever we are eating out together, we partake in a glass or two, much to the disgust of those around us.
Anyway, I digress, Ladies & Gentlemen, I bring you my recipe for the lovely Negroni.
