Updated February 2025

The February Michelin Star Awards added two newcomers to the list in Mayfair, Dosa and Jason Atherton’s Row on 5.

Mayfair now boasts a total of 20 Michelin-starred restaurants.

Introduction

When you consider how small an area Mayfair is, it’s incredible that it hosts no less than 20 Michelin-starred restaurants. Just so you know, I have listed them below; in the future, the Mayfair Foodie, we will dive into each restaurant in more detail. But looking at the list, you can see that some of the world’s best Chefs ply their trade in Mayfair.

Household names Helene Darroze, and Alain Ducasse have their restaurants in Mayfair. Also, the diverse range of cuisine is incredible, something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

It’s also worth mentioning that Mayfair is also home to many other incredible restaurants. There is something for everybody, from fantastic Traditional Fish and chips to cuisines from every corner of the world to some of the most iconic & famous restaurants in London. Mayfair is a foodie’s paradise.

sketch London was born from a creative friendship between Mazouz and French chef Pierre Gagnaire. Together, they opened the space as a destination for experimentation, taking over a 1779 building designed by James Wyatt in 2003

The 3-star restaurant serves tasting menus only, and the food is every bit as ambitious as the famous sketch decor, which is like no other in London or possibly the world. It also probably has the unique distinction of having the most talked about toilets in any restaurant. The egg-shaped pods really need to be seen.

Hide proudly boasts the most extensive European wine list, as you would expect from the team at Hedonism wines. A little-known fact is that if you struggle to find the wine of choice on the wine list (which is unlikely as there are over 800 bottles in the wine cellar), you can also access the wines in the Hedonism store. They will be brought over from the short walk from Davies Street to the Piccadilly restaurant, which I call service.

London’s oldest surviving Indian restaurant may have opened in 1926, but it’s always full of life. The traditionally attired doorman sets the tone for the restaurant, which is decorated in a subtle yet colourful style with a 1920s theme. The menu features dishes from many regions across India, using local chefs from each region to replicate the taste. Also, Veeraswamy uses local British ingredients to add subtle flavour combinations to established dishes. There is no doubt that although it is a very well-established restaurant, the menu is pushing the boundaries in showcasing the very best Indian cookery in the heart of Mayfair.

The Hyderabadi lamb biryani has been on the menu since opening day & you can look forward to seasonal changes on the menu.

The final Indian restaurant in Mayfair with a Michelin Star, Indian food lovers are spoiled for choice in this part of the world.

The menu at Jamavar takes influences from all parts of  India, with a slight bias towards the north. It also showcases dishes that would have been featured in the Indian royal kitchens. Instead of starters, there’s an extensive selection of small plates.

So that’s the complete list of Michelin-starred restaurants in Mayfair & what a list. With so many cuisines worldwide, I cannot think of a better place to sample some of the best food in the UK, if not Europe.

If you want to eat in any of the restaurants, booking is essential; they get very busy.

We will dive deep to unearth some fantastic food, chefs & restaurants in future blogs. Also, subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news & offers.

Finally, if you fancy exploring the area with the Mayfair Foodie, sign up for a private walking tour. The tour includes seeing the Foodie sights in Mayfair and stopping off at several iconic pubs and some great food along the way. Three hours of very relaxed fun. Click for more information here.
