1 Our guide to the  best places to enjoy a glass of vino in Mayfair

In previous articles, we have looked at the Best Pubs, cocktail bars, and cafes in Mayfair. Now, it is time to feature the best wine bars in Mayfair.

Mayfair has plenty of bars selling wine, but we are looking for bars specialising in wine. I’m delighted to say we have some great options for you if you plan to visit the area.

So pour yourself a glass of your favourite vino and read about the best wine bars in the area.

2 Shepherd Market Wine House

The Shepherd Market Wine bar

Located in Shepherd Market, Shepherd Market Wine House is the perfect place to meet friends, enjoy after-work drinks, or celebrate a special occasion.

Step into France with this cosy, French-styled bar, offering a wide selection of French wines and a diverse range of wines worldwide. Whether you prefer sticking with your old favourite or trying something new, our warm and friendly staff, experts in the wine industry, are always available to help you choose the perfect bottle!

3 The Farm Shop Wine Bar

Farm Shop Wine Bar

Charcuterie board at the Farm Shop

We recently reviewed the Farm Shop and wine bar and enjoyed a great lunch with a few glasses of wine.

The wine is in the cellar underneath the Farm shop, it’s Artfarm’s latest venture, a couple of minutes walk from Artfarms pub and restaurant The Audley and Mount Street restaurant. As we have come to expect from Artfarm’s, the basement wine bar has real art on the walls with French antiques. It looks so inviting. They have done an excellent job.

The 200-bin wine list is comprehensive, with wines starting at £5, which is not overpriced, especially for Mayfair. The wine bar also had a lovely menu with a great cheese and charcuterie selection.

4 Tosi Gorgonzola Bar

The Gorgonzola bar is situated in Bruton Place. This family-run wine bar specialises in its own Tosi Gorgonzola from Northern Italy. The wine list features classic Italian wines, with an impressive selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle. As you would expect, the food menu showcases their great cheeses and pasta.

46 Bruton Place, London W1J 6PD

5 Jeru Wine Bar

During the day, the front part of Jeru is a bakery that sells an amazing range of sandwiches, salads and snacks.

At night the space is transformed into a cosy wine bar with a comprehensive wine list and cocktails in the evening. The menu also includes snacks.

Whilst speaking of Jeru, I should mention as well as the bakery and wine bar, Jeru has an impressive fine-dining Eastern Mediterranean restaurant; check out our recent review.

11 Berkeley Street, London W1J 8DS

6 Clemence Bar

The Clemence Bar

Tucked away in Shepherd Market within Mayfair, Clemence Bar is a fabulous new wine and champagne bar suitable for any occasion. It is the sister bar to the renowned Shepherd Market Wine House and features an intimate setting with an old-school Parisian-themed interior. Clemence Bar aims to fulfil every indulgence with its understated elegance, soft and chic interiors, tasteful tunes, and exquisite French-inspired menu.

Whether you sit indoors or on the outdoor terrace, you can enjoy a full range of Champagne from France’s top houses, iconic French cocktails, sparkling wines, and various delicious bites to satisfy you.

46-48 Shepherd Market, London W1J 7QS

7 The White Horse

The White Horse

The White Horse describes itself as a wine-led pub, and although I understand the description, it fits nicely into our wine bar category. Located on the edge of Shepherd Market, The White Horse is part of the Hedonism Wine, so it has an excellent pedigree for serving fine wines and great food (Michelin-starred Hide is also part of the group).

The White Horse hold regular wine tastings, and the downstairs tasting area is available for private hire.

The White Horse is temporarily closed (July/August 2024).

8 BeBeMe (Mercato Mayfair)

BeBeMe is based in the crypt of a former church and forms part of the sustainable food court. With its cellar-like appearance, the crypt area is the perfect setting for a wine bar. The wine bar is available for private tastings and parties, and being part of a food court, you will find many diverse eating options to enjoy while sipping your wine.

9 Brooks Mews Wine House

Tucked away behind Claridges in a quiet cobbled street, Brooks Mews in a wine bar & shop.

Converted from an old carriage workshop in a Mews, this two-story space features huge picture windows. The ground floor boasts a large wine wall with a wide selection of nearly 150 wines from around the world. Upstairs, the mezzanine is a vibrant lounge where you can relax and unwind while enjoying the great selection of fine wines.

The wine is complemented by serving sharing platters of mostly artisanal French and Italian cheese and charcuterie, along with special seasonal dishes like the ‘Burratina’, a small burrata cheese served with seasoned tomatoes on toasted bread.

So thats our guide to the wine bars in Mayfair. The great thing about them is they are so different in many ways, but they have one thing in common which is the love of wine. Cheers to that!!
