Bottomless Brunch at Bocconcino Mayfair

A Vibrant Italian Escape in the Heart of London

A Vibrant Italian Escape in the Heart of London

Bottomless Brunch at Bocconcino Mayfair

A restaurant is a canvas of many colours, its core purpose to nourish and, ideally, delight. Beyond sustenance, restaurants weave themselves into the fabric of our lives, offering spaces to connect, celebrate, console, or even seal business deals. Whether for work or leisure, they shape our experiences. As if to highlight the versatility of restaurants, we experienced a bottomless brunch at Bocconcino Mayfair, a regular event every Saturday lunchtime, from 12-4pm.

As a newcomer to the bottomless brunch scene—unlike my wife, a seasoned veteran—I was eager to discover what awaited me at one of my favourite Italian restaurants.

What’s on Offer?

Bocconcino’s bottomless brunch is a 90-minute affair featuring unlimited drinks: choose champagne and Aperol spritz (£79) or prosecco (£69), paired with a three-course brunch menu. The experience is elevated by musical entertainment—a lively blend of DJ and violinist mixes, perfectly suited to a Saturday afternoon.

The Menu

The brunch kicks off with a choice of oysters or fried zucchini for the table. Next, diners select a starter to share: a platter of either a mixed Italian antipasto or beef carpaccio. For the main course, Bocconcino offers six options (one per person), showcasing Italian classics:

  • Tagliolini with lobster
  • Tagliatelle with truffle shavings
  • Steak with rocket and parmesan
  • Eggs royale
  • Pizza with truffle shavings
  • Pizza with wagyu bresaola

Our Choices

We opted for oysters to start, though I must note that Bocconcino’s fried zucchini, which I’ve enjoyed before, comes highly recommended. For the starter, we chose the mixed Italian antipasto—a vibrant platter bursting with colour and flavour. The combination of cured meats, grilled vegetables (artichokes, zucchini, and aubergine), cherry tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella. Leave me the platter and a hunk of fresh bread, and I would be perfectly happy.

For mains, I savoured the tagliolini with lobster, its thick, sea-kissed sauce coating the pasta perfectly. Each bite transported me to the Amalfi Coast, with the Mediterranean seemingly within reach. My wife chose the creamy truffle tagliatelle—a masterclass in simplicity, with fresh homemade pasta and a heady truffle aroma. According to my bottomless brunch expert and companion, food at bottomless brunches can sometimes feel like an afterthought, but Bocconcino proved otherwise. The dishes were exceptional, and the attentive staff ensured our glasses were never empty, keeping the fizz flowing.

The Atmosphere

The Saturday brunch was buzzing, with two large groups and a mix of smaller parties filling the dining room. The result was a relaxed yet festive atmosphere, enhanced by the lively music and the clinking of glasses.

Final Thoughts

Bocconcino Mayfair’s bottomless brunch is more than a meal—it’s an experience. From the thoughtfully curated menu to the vibrant ambience, it delivers on both flavour and fun. Whether you’re a brunch novice or a seasoned enthusiast, this Italian haven in Mayfair is well worth a visit.
