The Mayfair Foodie guide to the best restaurants in Dover Street (updated 2024)
Continuing on our street-by-street restaurant guide of Mayfair, we look at the restaurants in the vibrant Dover Street. It’s located less than a 5-minute walk from Green Park station. Dover Street runs from Piccadilly in the south (facing the Ritz hotel) to Grafton Street in the north, and it is named after Henry Jermyn, Earl of St Albans’ wife, whose maiden name was Dover.
As well as a great selection of Restaurants, you will find Victoria Beckham’s flagship store & the Arts Club, a social club formed in 1863 for anybody interested in art & literature. If you know a member of the art club, it has a lovely restaurant, but sadly it is members only.

3 GAIA
A recent addition to Dover Street’s list of restaurants, GAIA opened at the end of 2023. On the corner of Piccadilly and Dover Street, from the outside GAIA cuts an impressive presence.
Named after the Greek goddess of Earth, the cuisine is unsurprisingly Greek bringing the Mediterranean to Dover Street.
GAIA includes a fresh fish counter and vintage wine cellar – offering guests unparalleled dining experience.
Taking inspiration from GAIA’s namesake, the Greek Goddess, the restaurant’s bar will feature cocktails inspired by the earth, sun, mountains and sea.

5 The Dover
Another newbie to Dover Street, opening in 2023. The Dover is based on New York Italian.
The stunning art deco interior was designed by a small studio from Milan. Add to that white tablecloths and candlelight and 70’s music adds to the ambience
The prices start at £14 for pasta and with five main courses under £30 it can be classed as reasonable for Mayfair

6 MNKY House
The entrance of MNKY house is not as discreet as described on their website; however, once inside, you are transported to the taste and sounds of Latin America.

8 Lusin
“Alright, just a quick correction – Lusin isn’t actually located on Dover Street, but it’s situated around the corner on Hay Hill. According to Google Maps, it’s only 40 yards away from CHUCS, so there shouldn’t be any confusion. Lusin specializes in Armenian cuisine with a modern twist. Some of their popular dishes include Kibbeh Labanyia – Kibbeh cooked in yoghurt, served with braised lamb, red pilaf with truffle, and Pumpkin with spiced rice & veal. I hope you’re glad we added Lusin to our list of recommendations!”
9 Sheesh
Dover Street is a new restaurant located at the corner of Dover Street and Piccadilly. As the name suggests, the menu features a selection of Sheesh Kebabs, as well as grills such as Wagu burgers, steaks, and fish. Sheesh is already an established and trendy restaurant in Chigwell, known as a celebrity hotspot, so one can expect the same level of popularity in this prime Mayfair location. The grand dining room is beautifully decorated and no expense has been spared. I’m sure it will be a very popular restaurant.
10 IT London
Upmarket restaurant & bar, the only Italian restaurant in Dover Street with a moder twist on Italian classics(hence the name IT). The pizza chef is from Naples, and the menu is best described as Mayfair Italian. There is also a brunch menu for early starters. In the evening, music sets from International DJs add to the buzzy vibe.

Finally, there is one pub on Dover Street, The Clarence, established in 1724 & rebuilt in its present form in 1953. It is now owned by Brewers Nicholsons, as well as a well-stocked bar; the pub offers a choice of pub grub.
