We go Burger Crazy and bring some of the best burgers to be found in town

I get asked many questions about restaurants and food in Mayfair, but one of the most frequent questions is where I can find a good burger. I believe the question stems from the fact that you will not find any popular high-street burger outlets in Mayfair, but there are many restaurants. So it was about time we compiled a list of Best Burgers In Mayfair.

After reading about Mayfair’s finest selections, I challenge you not to go straight out and satisfy your burger craving.

What constitutes a good burger?

it’s about the following: the patty, the bun, the toppings and the condiments.

The burger itself should be juicy and full of flavour, not too thick, as this is the main reason burgers can dry out. A good burger patty is the most important element to creating a good eating experience, whether you use traditional beef or other sources, such as chicken, fish, or plant-based.

The burger filling

Again, the bun can make or break a burger. It must be soft but firm enough to hold the burger and toppings. A bun that disintegrates halfway through eating is a disaster.

Toppings and condiments are about personal choice, but we need that choice. Again, like the burger, we need fresh ingredients. If you add salad, let’s ensure it looks appetising and is not an apology for a tired, limp, and unappealing salad.

Appearance: A burger should look the part, be well-presented, and turn heads as it goes from the kitchen to your table.

Sides are a final element to producing a great plate of food, so don’t let the sides spoil what would have otherwise been a great burger.

All prices listed are based on eating in the restaurant.

1 The Meat & Wine Co

Meat & Wine Co Burger

The Meat & Wine Co is a fine-dining restaurant on Curzon Street that serves steaks and grills with an African twist.

They do have a Beef Burger on their main menu. It is a chuck, brisket, bone marrow patty, cheddar, tomato, onion rings, and burger sauce. Served with crunchy chips or gem salad.

Price £22.00

2 Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock legendary Burger

This worldwide chain of restaurants knows a thing or two about burgers. Since 1971, they have been serving classic burgers paired with great rock music. Their menu is full of burgers to choose from, but being a traditionalist, I have chosen the original legendary burger.

The Legendary® Burger has it all including a fresh steak patty, seasoned and seared, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onion ring, leaf lettuce and vine-ripened tomato, all wrapped up in a toasted brioche bun and served with a side of seasoned fries.

£18.95

150 Old Park Lane, London W1K 1QZ

3 CHUCS

Best Burger in Mayfair entry from CHUCS

This charming Mediterranean cosy restaurant on Mayfair’s Dover has a menu with many  Italian favourites. However, the Classics section serves burgers (Beef) with bacon, tomatoes, and fries. There is a vegetarian option.

Price £21.00

4 The Chesterfield Arms

The chesterfield Arms Burger

The Chesterfield Arms pub is located on Hertford Street in Mayfair’s busy Shepherd Market. It has a delightful upstairs restaurant serving British Classics, including a signature dish of Beef Wellington, all served in a beautiful wood-panelled dining room.

Ok, down to the burger, Rib & flank beef burger, applewood cheese, burnt shallots, crumble, relish, and skin on fries, all for  £18.50

5 The Colony Grill (Beaumont Hotel)

Best burger in Mayfair entry the Colony Grill

The Colony Grill is a fine dining restaurant themed on a New York grill room based in the Art Deco 5-star Beaumont Hotel. The menu features New York classics, which of course, has to feature a burger,

In this case, the burger in question is the famous The Colony Cheese Burger served with caramelised onions and triple-cooked chips.

Price £27.00

6 Little Social

The Little Social Burger

Jason Atherton Little Social is a bistro version of Jason’s once flagship Michelin-starred restaurant, Pollen Street Social.

The cafe-style menu boasts a seasonal selection, but one firm favourite on the menu, whatever time you visit, is the Little Social Burger, which features Monterey Jack, pulled pork, and mushroom ketchup, served with fries. Adding pulled pork is a point of difference and a firm favourite with regulars.

Price £22.00

7 The Windmill

The Windmill Burger

The Windmill is famous for its pie menu and even boasts a pie menu. The award-winning pie selection offers classic pie, but even with its fabulous pies, it has found a space for a burger on the menu of this popular Mill Street pub.

The Windmill Cheesburger contains a Dairy Cattle beef burger, Cornish cheddar, watercress mayo, lettuce, red onion, and ale chutney, served with fries.

Price £19.00

8 The Mayfair Chippy

A fish entry for Best Burger in Mayfair from The Mayfair Chippy

Our final Burger comes from the busiest restaurant in the area. Queues from lunchtime to dinnertime are usual, all waiting to sample fresh fish treats from this iconic restaurant.

As expected, the Beef has been ditched for a filling of soft-shell crab, sriracha mayo and Mayfair slaw. What a way to end our selection of Mayfair’s finest burgers.

I hope you liked our recommendations and it’s tempted you to try a burger or two. We have plenty of other Mayfair food related on our website. Also, please sign up for our free newsletter; we give you the inside track on restaurant news in town, and much much more.
